New Outlook won't open .pst files

The new version of Outlook for Windows (Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.425.600 - Production) no longer allows me to open my old .pst archive files.

All documentation refers to a File menu that this version does not have at all.

    Agreed. I tried it and found everything out. Fortunately, for the moment, we are able to click in the upper righthand corner and revert back to the old so we can do whatever we can do to preserve them. I have moved some into the active synced cloud one.

    This issue is Microsoft is discontinuing and not supporting the old version. The final transition is to happen the end of this year. It is a complete nightmare. It is clear that what they are doing is forcing people to move those files into the main synced cloud one and pay money for more cloud space.

    Because we will no longer have on our local drive, they will not really be our private files. We are exposed.

    Also, if you have dragged emails into an explore folder for keeping, they will no longer open.

    This is Ludicrous.

    I have just wasted days finding where in in Purview (prev Compliance) part of M365 admin management consoles how to download the results of my GDPR Subject Access Request search to a .PST output by Purview MS latest tool for compliance management to find I can't open the PST or to be more precise I can open it, the open and export function lets me open it but tells me there is nothing in my 2.5GB pst

    What utter idiots are working at MS?

    Pissed off with how myuch of my time this has wasted.

    For info the only alternative I have in Purvies is to export each email to a seperate .eml file instead which will be 10's of thousands of emails.

    Jenny, you are obsoletely correct. I found an application that handles the PST files as well as current emails stored in servers.

    It is called MailStore and can be free for single user or paid for business and corporations, It has a powerful search engine.

    Did you also note that it will no longer allow us to change the subject line? Being able to change it is a huge way to insure good organization. Working for a filter company and the customers send me or my exec an email with only "filter" in the subject line it is ridiculous, and too many do things like this. I change is so it has more substance.

    Can you share with me any other features that will be obsolete when the full transition is made?
