Hi Microsoft team,

I'd like to know if there is a way to set Reminders for external invites in outlook because me and my team are receiving invites from other calendars and we miss the meetings because the reminders are not automatically set after we accept the external invitation.

Thank you in advance

    Same issue here.

    When I miss a meeting it looks like I did not want to attend but it is because the sender does not have the default set at a reminder. I should not have to accept an invite and then go straight to my calendar, find the invite and then set a reminder. The default for Google should be 15 min for everyone and changed to none.

    @Microsoft,

    I think the product/outlook should have 3 layers for appointments:

    a. The external layer - whatever the external person/organization setup.

    b. The organization of the "employee" level - so for example if I want to book a room at my company I can. - this is something we also need. For now, we just set up a parallel meeting with the room, which is quite weird.

    c. The personal level, where the user can set up his notifications/notes without changing anything for others.

    This is also important for shared calendars.

    Really sad, still exists and I have the same issue. It is tedious to inspect every single appointment to see if there is a notification.

    I do not understand how such simple usability features are not there for such expensive products. For me reporting via Feedback in Outlook is blocked so my only option is to keep this thread alive and hope.

    I have been working on this issue for a while and have confirmed that the issue is on Google's side. The problem exists where a meeting is created in Google Calendar and the reminder value is not modified, but remains at whatever its default setting is configured to.  Apparently, when the reminder is set to the default value, Google ignores the reminder setting when it creates the ICS file.  If you change that default reminder to anything, it will trigger that setting to be added to the ICS file. Since we are not able to control how meeting invites are configured when they are sent, it would be great if there was a way to configure Outlook to automatically set a reminder on every event where the reminder is set to "none".
