When sending emails from QuickBooks with Outlook, edits are discarded and the mail is sent as created by Quickbooks.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create invoice in QuickBooks, click "Email" button.
  2. A draft email is created in Outlook from your default invoice template with the invoice attached.
  3. Edit that email - add or remove text, and send.
  4. Look in Sent Items. The sent email DOES NOT HAVE YOUR EDITS.

This is subtle, and super annoying - how often do you think to check if your e-mail got sent the way you wrote it? I only noticed because I went back to copy some text that I had written for a new e-mail and saw that it was missing from the email as sent.

    I just installed (last night) QB 2023, fully updated, and the issues are still there.

    We've been using QB for more than 20 years without this issue, but when we installed the 2023 version of Desktop Pro about a month ago, the "can't edit email" issue started. Thanks to all who are working through this. I'd be delighted to do what I can, too!

    Please update this post when a solution has been provided. Currently doing a work around posted earlier in this thread so hopefully they fix this asap.

    Try this as per Microsoft

    Thank you for your patience with me. Copy the text below and paste it to the Notepad file, then click on 'File' > 'Save as' and select your Desktop. Lastly, save it with the name 'Outlook.reg' (without the quotes) as a REG file. Note: Please remove the extension '*.txt', while saving the file.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentEcs\Overrides] "ofqmojruwvzbn60"="false"

    Lastly, double-click on the REG file (Located on your Desktop) to merge it and restart your computer. After the change, please restart the PC and let us know the result.

    This is the key MS asked me not to distribute. It has worked for me, but per messages back in the thread, it's not a permanent fix if MS changes something again.
