When sending emails from QuickBooks with Outlook, edits are discarded and the mail is sent as created by Quickbooks.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create invoice in QuickBooks, click "Email" button.
  2. A draft email is created in Outlook from your default invoice template with the invoice attached.
  3. Edit that email - add or remove text, and send.
  4. Look in Sent Items. The sent email DOES NOT HAVE YOUR EDITS.

This is subtle, and super annoying - how often do you think to check if your e-mail got sent the way you wrote it? I only noticed because I went back to copy some text that I had written for a new e-mail and saw that it was missing from the email as sent.

    No worries at all and I respect you honoring your word.

    My problem is that I have talked to 2 different Microsoft techs today on 2 different tickets and neither one knew anything about a registry key and told me to follow the intuit thread posted here. But it is clear none of those fixes will work. I have no idea who to talk to since this appears to be the classic finger pointing with intuit and Microsoft.

    Also, my ticket number with MS is 33417431 - perhaps referring to that will help them locate the key for you?

    Those are similar but not the same as what I was given. I only had the one key, not the WoW6432Node one, and it was enough for me. I would say that is unlikely to be a permanent fix, also. There's some change that MS is pushing out - this key allows you to opt out of the change temporarily, I guess, but once the experiment becomes production code, the "Override" won't work anymore I bet. That's why you should open a ticket and get the key - the more MS knows this is an issue, the better. I'm not trying to be difficult here - I explicitly asked if I can distribute the key and they told me no, so I'm trying to honor that while I'm working with them.

    I haven't tried it yet as I can't confirm those are the correct ones for this issue. I just googled the key mentioned above and that's what came up. Hoping someone on here can confirm.
