Man, that's got to be annoying. Bring back the drag-drop option. Then it can be an event for yourself, or add ppl as needed!

The issue I have with moving items from the inbox to My Day is that I normally want a calendar event for just myself as a to-do item and I don't want to invite people. Many of these emails I want to follow up on go to distribution lists with hundreds of people on them, and accidentally inviting my company to a personal calendar event is going to happen one day. I had a client reminder on my calendar just this week and the only way I noticed I set it as a meeting was they accepted the meeting invitation.

Can you imagine if I had input sensitive information into that calendar event based off the original email?

I want the option to turn off inviting people to events that are dragged to My Day, and I want this as default, since I never create client meetings based off an email. I will always craft a proper meeting agenda with a new calendar invite.

I think I'm just beaten into submission at this point. There are a couple of additional clicks, and the cheese was moved. But I'm fairly able to create appointments out of emails now. At the very top of the screen, click the calendar with a check box (think its called Outlook Today or something). Then you can drag your email to the resulting window and you get the appointment window with the email details. Hope you find peace in additional clicks.

I am with you 100% - bloody crazy decision. I am still using old Outlook!

I would still love to revert to Outlook before the horrible UI abomination that is the "ribbon". I don't know what the team was smoking when they envisioned that.
