How to remove [External] from Outlook emails, users are getting furious

Since early December all of our Outlook365 users (in all tenants) have been getting the tag [External] in the subject line of their Outlook, and want it removed. I am only finding PS scripts which do not work. I have searched the settings and security areas of the admin console but have not found anything. Please help!

2023-01-17T12:57:03+00:00 I do not want to disable the external function (thus NOT using Set-ExternalInOutlook -Enabled $false), but just hide the "External" hint in the message list view, because it takes away much room.
Is it possible to just hide that "External" notice in the messsage list within Outlook and not to disable the function completely?

2023-01-13T17:16:29+00:00 Sounds like this thread is getting a little punchy so I will lock it. Let's all point the finger towards Microsoft development team as they are the ones doing these Knee jerk "feature updates" without offering an opt out solution for the sysadmins.

2023-01-13T16:04:58+00:00 Your being "straight and to the point" is actually rude and offensive. I know you are "volunteering and expect nothing in return" but that doesn't give you license to use offensive language in this community-why not just leave that out when you answer from now on?
