Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
I have replied with the solution to rules for the new Outlook previously. To begin with I am not a fan of the new Outlook. I do not use Calendar; it does not appear to integrate with other calendars that are available on the web. The new Outlook appears to have been written for use with a mail server using IMAP protocol and not POP3. The new Outlook does not support rules as a native feature. The only way that I have found to apply rules to incoming mail is to create them on the mail server. This involves logging onto your email account as web mail and creating the rules there. This works for me, and it puts the filtered mail into its appropriate folder when using Outlook to access mail as IMAP. The old Outlook, using POP3 does not see the new mail in the existing folders on the client after the mail has been moved by the rules on the server to their respective folders.
