Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
I went back to classic Outlook. If anyone wants to do this - Option 1. doesn't work, at least for me. go to step 2.
here are a few methods to switch back:
- Toggle in New Outlook:
- Open Outlook.
- Navigate to the Outlook menu.
- Uncheck the option for the New Outlook.
- Click the Revert button.
- Allow the application to revert to the Outlook Classic view^1^.
- Directly Run the Classic Version:
- The classic version of Outlook still exists alongside the new one.
- You can find its shortcut in the Start menu or wherever you had it before.
- If not, locate
outlook.exein one of these places (may vary slightly depending on edition):-
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16
-
- Create a new shortcut if necessary.
- Run the old Outlook using the shortcut^2^.
- Registry Edit (Advanced):
- If running the above steps still opens the New Outlook for you, consider this method:
- Open Regedit.exe.
- Navigate to:
-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences
-
- Look for the key named UseNewOutlook.
- Set it to 0, which means that running the old Outlook will actually launch it^2^.
Remember that the New Outlook and Classic Outlook can coexist, and you can even run them concurrently. Choose the method that best suits your preference and work requirements! 📧📆
