Outlook App on Android keeps crashing when trying to open an email

My Outlook App won't open. I'm receiving notifications that I'm getting new mail and I can read the first couple of lines (in the notification ) but if I want to open the email to read the who thing by double clicking on it the email tries to open through the app and this crashes. To resolve this, I've already updated all the apps on my phone, rebooted the phone twice (once with a full reset). I have then tried to uninstall the outlook app and reinstall it but it says you need to deactivate the app first and you can't do this. I've also checked that the rest of the MS apps are working (word / excel etc) and they seem to be opening fine

Not sure how to resolve this issue as I didn't realise how much I read my emails on my phone until this glitch happened!

I hope you wonderful community can explain what's happening and how to resolve it

    I agree but I now have a working email whilst MS sort themselves out

    Rolling back to a previous version is a workaround, not a fix. This needs an update from Samsung or MS.

    I can confirm that this works on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T510. As Sofia A. Istanbul says this works for a number of people over on the techcomunity site but does not work for her. I'm happy with this work around for now so thank you Sofia.A for your post.

    I also have this problem with my A13's in that are company managed, tried turning mobile data off and the app didnt crash.

    Then I turned it back on and it crashed again and i havent been able to get it fixed, so now turning off data doesnt work anymore.

    I did the following and worked for me:

    First uninstall Outlook app,

    then install the older version of outlook 4.2240.1 that is available from the GALAXY STORE.

    Finally turn off autoupdates for Outlook ONLY from the playstore

    So this works. It is a temporary solution until a proper update is released to fix the problem.
