Spell check on "new" outlook does not work anymore when right clicking - change it back!

I mostly use only my keyboard to type, the dropdown option on the keyboard makes it extremely convenient to access the spell check options. This is a right click function, since changing it to left click this functionality has been lost.

Having to stop typing and using the mouse to left click every time is iritating and frankly a waste of time / disruptive. It makes no sense to change a function that has been a staple since the start of spellchecking without providing an option to change it back!!

    This problem is now occurring in the classic version of outlook, even with the "Try the new Outlook" button set to "Off". Curiously, I do not experience the issue in Chrome while typing this reply.

    Please return the right click spell check function to all versions of Outlook. Trying to force people to un-learn decades of muscle memory with longer and less efficient ways of typing is moving backwards, not forwards.

    Switching languages in the new Outlook interface is not very intuitive.

    When an error is highlighted with a red or blue underline (indicating grammar or spelling issues), click on the underlined word. A small popup will appear. In that popup, click on "Editor." From there, you can change the language by adjusting the settings in the right-hand pane. Scroll to the bottom of the Editor Settings, where you'll find the option to "Customize your editor."

    I think that the checker is performing some kind of online AI search, because it does not spot all grammar errors very quickly and sometimes takes minutes to do so, if at all. Strange.

    This complaint was in May, its now Nov and its still not fixed? what a joke

    It is now DEC 2024 and STILL no update in the development of this most basic feature. Must we wait for another 18 months before any further comment is made by Microsoft?

    Spellcheck works. You need to adjust your privacy settings to allow Windows to read what you have typed. Then enable the editor function in Outlook.
