Outlook for MAC is not syncing sent folder for IMAP account

Hello,

Has anyone seen an issue where the outlook app on MacBook pro is not syncing sent messages in the local sent folder with the sent folder on the email server? This issue is for a domain and email hosted through a 3rd party hosting provider. The outlook app uses IMAP settings to connect to the email account.

The emails, however, are being sent to the destination, and it is just that a copy stored in the sent folder of the outlook app is not syncing with that of the email server through IMAP.

I would appreciate any ideas on how to fix this. Many thanks for considering my request.

Thank you for following up on the issue and posting the solution. The solution worked for me.

This solves the sent inbox issue.

However, I had this further communication with Microsoft:

Q: Will I lose any functionality by leaving the account not set up with the Microsoft Cloud technology?

A: There are some like you'll be unable to create Contacts and Calendar events for now and this will be resolved soon as the the concerned team is working on this.

I posted a "solution" given to me by Microsoft earlier today.

The "solution" was to delete and then reenter the IMAP account without connecting the account to Microsoft Cloud.

While this resolves the sent folder syncing issue, on further exploration, you lose th ability to create new contacts, add calendar events, and inbox does not synch properly.

In other words, you lose more than you gain.

I am told Microsoft is fully aware and working on it.

The previous "fix" Microsoft gave me and I shared with you this morning does not work. Removing the account and putting it back with Cloud Services solves the sent folder issue, but disables the creation of new contacts and calendar events and causes inbox synching issues. Best to go to "Help" menu and select Legacy Outlook until the resolve this which I was told was "high priority".
