Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
This is pathetic, It's July 2024 and you still haven't updated this functionality from a prior iteration?! Big Tech sucking away company dollars for a pittance.

Hi All
I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.
Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).
Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.
It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.
Can anyone assist?
Thank you
Thomas

this is not a solution. our company is forcing us onto nEw OuTlOoK and it keeps frustrating me that my folders, which contain anywhere between 5 - 35 chronological goings ons in my work, this "solution" is not one. so not only are my months out of order, which I can deal with, the events inside those folders are not.
It's a specific version of this issue, but my Outlook kept on moving my Inbox down into the middle of the list, which also closed the folder and jumped to a different mailbox whenever the resorting occurred. I was able to stop the resorting from occurring by doing the following:
Don't know if this is a permanent fix, but it seems to have lasted about half an hour, when before it was resorting every minute or so.
Yet ANOTHER plea for someone (literally anyone) to address the insanity that is the UX/UI of the new Outlook. Organizing folders with drag-and-drop has to be one of the most basic functions of any email program. Like every other person who is extremely annoyed on this thread, this is actually hindering my work functions. I use old Outlook as I prefer to deal with the API integration issues with Teams, etc bc even those headaches are better than new Outlook.
What if we each individually started new posts on this subject. They may be ignoring this thread. If all 200 of us posted something like "why is Microsoft ignoring this issue...", it might be seen ha ha.
