Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All

I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.

Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).

Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.

It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.

Can anyone assist?

Thank you

Thomas

Argh this is not the thread I wanted to find - I wanted to find the trick to this apparently simple thing... agree with all of you saying this is BASIC and VITAL and I can't believe it's still not in place after a very long time... back to old outlook I go

Exactly! This is my issue and I'm glad you posted this. I'm ok with the alphabetical sorting, I just need to get my new folders into the list!

I was having this same issue today and it was driving me nuts but I figured it out how to fix it on my outlook app on my desktop. I hope this is helpful! I went to the "Folder" tab at the top of my outlook app on my computer, then unclicked "Show All Folders A to Z" and it fixed it immediately and now I can move folders around in different orders. I never clicked this button to begin with, but that's besides the point. Hope this helps!!

Are you sure you're not using the Classic version of Outlook rather than the New one? There is no Folder tab in New Outlook.

Ah, it looks like mine is the original. I'm so sorry to give false hope!! I thought I may have found relief for this issue. It wasn't allowing me to attach a photo to my last response but this is what I see.
