Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All

I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.

Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).

Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.

It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.

Can anyone assist?

    I see that it works for my hotmail account but not my gmail account to sort by "From", "Subject", "Received" etc.

    This is so unhelpful. Please let us organize our folders. There's no way this couldn't have been completed in the last 6 months. Can't make rules for outgoing mail and can't organize your folders. These are BASIC tasks that should be available in your program. Do better Microsoft.

    How is this still an issue 8 months later? This workaround is not usable in handling large email inboxes with ongoing folders and sub-folders.

    This needs to be looked at and corrected. How is there no "sort" option at all? I use Outlook for Web and separate my folders by month with subfolders inside each one. Outlook only allows them to be sorted alphabetically, but this is impractical for monthly folders. I've tried dragging subfolders out of the parent category and dragging them back in, but refreshing the page places it back in alphabetical order.
