Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All

I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.

Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).

Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.

It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.

Can anyone assist?

Thank you

Thomas

To bump this crucial issue please - my workplace is switching off the old Outlook this week and it will make my life very difficult if I can't re-order the folders - thanks.

Just started to use the New Outlook. Now we're well into 2024 and still NOTHING! How can this be? Why isn't this just fixed? Just do it for crying out loud! It's always the same ****, not everything is included in our NEW version and then it takes MORE than FROEVER to even just fix the most basic stuff!

It makes absolutely NO sense that Microsoft would even put this product out to be used without this most basic functionality. Why not just get rid of folders altogether if the program doesn't allow users to organize their messages with them?? Clearly not well thought out there, Microsoft! That is why I always hesitate to "try" something new when those messages pop up. Usually end up going down a rabbit hole of their creation. Although the "new" Outlook is supposedly still in development, I would think bringing this to your attention months ago would have yielded an update by now.

This is so annoying. I cannot make a new folder and stick it alphabetically between two other folders. So now, I have my old folder list and a rapidly growing "new" list of folders.

Good job fixing something that wasn't broken. Seems kind of simple to drag and drop a folder between two others, but it just adds a sub folder.

Same Opinion here, now finally I would start to use "New" Outlook as nearly all essentials are present but that topic is still a must have. So jumping back to "old" Outlook till it works...
