Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All

I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.

Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).

Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.

It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.

Can anyone assist?

Thank you

Thomas

this is not a solution. our company is forcing us onto nEw OuTlOoK and it keeps frustrating me that my folders, which contain anywhere between 5 - 35 chronological goings ons in my work, this "solution" is not one. so not only are my months out of order, which I can deal with, the events inside those folders are not.

This is pathetic, It's July 2024 and you still haven't updated this functionality from a prior iteration?! Big Tech sucking away company dollars for a pittance.

Dear Microsoft... We are now at a year for this string.... come on. If you wanted it - you would have done it

Thanks Lizzie, I was so excited about this, but when I tried it and switched back to new outlook the order didn't stick. It just reverted back to the horribly ineffective way new outlook has chosen to sort it.

Found a temporary solution for this - switch back to the old outlook and sort however you'd like (auto alphabetize, manually, move up/down, etc). Then go back to new outlook and folders will be the same as how you just sorted them. Not sure if everyone has the ability to go back to old outlook however, so apologies if this isn't a surefire way to fix this incredibly frustrating MS functionality issue impacting countless folks productivity.
