Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All
I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.
Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).
Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.
It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.
Can anyone assist?

I came up with this thread and jumped to the last page, hoping that it was resolved already, since YES, favorites is not the same as the previous method since subfolders are not carried on when you fav a folder. I find this quite surprising that, when launching the new Outlook, this was totally overlooked.
Hope manual sorting of folders returns ASAP...

2024-07-23T08:16:33+00:00 Adding another vote to this thread. Absolutely maddening that the new Outlook still does not have this incredibly basic functionality. Favouriting folders is of no use at all as it does not show the sub-folders that I create to organize my projects. Spend less time on AI and more time creating a product that actually does the basic tasks that are required!
