Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All

I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.

Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).

Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.

It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.

Can anyone assist?

    for the love of god, please fix this sorting issue and bring back gray dark theme in the dark mode settings. my eyes are burning from needing to find my folders and the lack of dark modes

    also, what a waste of space to have the sidebar - put it back on the bottom - and no, i can't do it myself because the company remove all the access to personalise outlook

    Total BS. Its more important that they force you to use 2 step authentication now and try to get you to pay $3.99 a WEEK for some stupid program that you will only use with their email. Now I can't get into my microsoft account because it is stuck in a loop sending my app a code that I keep putting in and then it asks again. I HATE MICROSOFT.

    This new Outlook has been weighed and measured and been found lacking!

    Now that I've been using it for several weeks, there are indeed several things that I find very annoying.

    Just one example is that instead of opening an excel sheet, IN EXCEL, it opens as part of the email. I know that I can open it AGAIN in excel, but now you've added another step to get to the same place.

    I don't find the outlook to be user friendly at all :(

    MICROSOFT.... get the thumb out and at least fix the file sorting feature

    Bumping this thread! My company just moved everyone to "New" Outlook and the folder sort functionality is a HUGE loss. Please Microsoft, prioritize this!

    I have been using this to fix the issue and every time I report the reason for going back to old is that the folder sorting is an issue
