Hi All
I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.
Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).
Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.
It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.
Can anyone assist?

From the Ribbon, select Folder pane -> Sort folders -> Order folders A to Z.
That should work. If not, wait for the program to update. Mine updated last week, so I can only presume that Microsoft is rolling it out slowly.
Hi - was this issue ever sorted? I'm having an issues arranging my email folder in alphabetical order, can anyone help?

I have the same issue - cannot sort folders alphabetically which the old classic outlook used to do automatically
as it has now been 2 years since the first post - any news of an update Microsoft ?
This response is not working. I followed those instructions, View/Folder Pane/Custom Folder Order, but this option was already selected. I am able to sort specific emails; I cannot sort sub-folders. I'm probably too anal about my folder organization but not having the ability to sort sub-folders is irritating at best, and is a major hinderance to productivity. What is baffling to me is WHY provide this feature to files and not sub-folders when IT WAS ALREADY FUNCTIONING IN THE PREVIOUS VERSION!!
