Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All

I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.

Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).

Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.

It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.

Can anyone assist?

    Er, whatever problem I thought I was encountering, appears to have been fixed or was an illusion.

    I swear that when I added folders typified by the x suffix, under 2024, in new Outlook, they did not sort rationally, they now do.

    My apologies to Microsoft if I was deranged, and my congratulations and gratitude if I wasn't!

    AH! Hang on. What happens if I change a folder? Still good!

    On this basis I'm moving to new Outlook.

    Yes, I'm having the same difficulty. What I've been doing is adding "A", "AA" "AAA", etc. in front of the folders I want to see at the top of the list. Numbers work as well.

    Agree 100%. It sucks up memory, which causes it to constantly crash and freeze up. There are so many features that have bugs or just need improvement

    How many of us feel like this New Outlook rollout has the feel of Windows Vista and Windows 8, where MS didn't listen to their customer base and thought they knew best? I'll say this again: MS's new motto seems to be, "Almost good enough for government work." In other words, it's basically useless. Microsoft, please get your act together, get your egos out of the clouds, remember who your customer base is, and get back to creating what we need.

    Color me very disappointed that custom folder sort was brought up more than a year ago but no solution. I've been forced into using the new Outlook b/c MS won't allow the old one to be installed. I just keep running into more and more things that were available in the old version of Outlook but not the new one. It's so frustrating and making my work life more difficult than it needs to be. Add me to the long list of people who need to sort their work folders based on importance and not by the alphabet. That just makes no sense.
