Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

@Microsoft? Do you even read this and appreciate that this functionality is considered a BASIC requirement for an email solution?

I am forced to use the "new Outlook" to trial your Copilot. Yet, here I sit, dealing with a massively inept product in various areas.

The lack of progress on this basic functionality is shocking to say the least, and so is your non commitment to resolve. How would you feel if you purchased a chest of drawers for your home, and was TOLD by the manufacturer that you could only put your clothes in it in alphabetical order and not in the was that suits you?

Suddenly, this is your new clothing arrangement:

Drawer 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc... in this order

1. Only Belts
2. Only Boots
3. Only Bra's
4. Only Caps
5. Only Dresses
6. Only Jackets
7. Only Jeans.
8. .... imagine how far the list goes - we haven't even got to your Socks, Shirts, Trousers.

Instructions to your whole Microsoft department:

1. Wake up in the morning to discover that your previous organization of clothes has changed, without any regard for what you used to do.
2. Empty your drawers and cupboards, and re-pack them alphabetically, drawer by drawer. No, you don't get a separate drawer for all items starting with "A". Each drawer may only contain one type of item. And no, you don't have a choice, just like we don't have a choice in Outlook. So best you get used to it.
3. Let the forum know the progress on your clothing rearrangements, and how this has affected your productivity and mood.
4. You are required to keep this arrangement until such time as you have addressed the same problem in Outlook. Hold yourself and your team accountable for the frustrations you are causing to your customers.
5. Oh, and if you like, you can get another chest of drawers and call it your "Favorites", where you can only place 1 item of every kind. One shirt, one pair of shoes, one pair of socks.... and we will call that a "Microsoft Solution" for now.
6. I'm willing to bet you suddenly prioritize this in Outlook. That's great.
7. If you really want to drive the point home, keep your clothes in this stupid, non-productive arrangement, for the amount of time that your customers have been waiting for relief. Then you can pack your cupboards back to how you prefer.

We're currently in 2024 and you guys STILL haven't fixed this very BASIC and very much REQUIRED feature. I've been avoiding using "new outlook" for as long as possible because of the litany of issues I've heard about it, and rightfully so. Why has this not been addressed????

Your workaround is a poor excuse for a solution, especially if we favorite a folder containing subfolders, NONE OF THE SUB FOLDERS APPEAR ON THE FAVORITES FOR THE MAIN FOLDER.

You people at MS are working under the assumption that the average user for OUTLOOK of all programs, is a casual user who thinks its nothing different from gmail or yahoo. Those of us in bigger organizations use you for a reason, and oftentimes, our usage dictates we have 100 subfolders because YES WE DO HAVE THAT MUCH SORTING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.

Please for the love of Bill Gates get this problem FIXED.

The lack of folder reordering is enough not to use New Outlook. This is basic functionality. I will not be able to move forward until this very simple feature is restored.

Please definitely add this feature! It is critical for any one who has a lot of emails and perhaps a lot of projects. Thank you.
