Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All

I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.

Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).

Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.

It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.

Can anyone assist?

Thank you

Thomas

The only work around that I've been able use is to

    1. Open Classic Outlook
    2. Let the folders, emails, etc sync with the server
    3. Right click in the Inbox
    4. Select to sort subfolders A to Z or Move Folders Manually to where you want.
    5. Then select "Try the new Outlook"
    6. and your folder structure will be resorted the way you want it.

This is tedious, BUT there is a work around. If you move a folder into another folder (pick anyone) and then move it back to the cabinet, it puts it at the top. So you if you are purposeful in how reorder you can put them in the order you want.

I can't believe this hasn't been resolved, over a year later. This is such a basic functionality it's insane there hasn't even been an update from the team.

The lack of customer support is really embarrasing for a company such as Microsoft.

Bumping this almost a year later - this is a feature that is necessary for employees with large volume of emails. I have over 50 folders and were all in a specific spot before I switched to the New Outlook and I can't even figure out how New Outlook sorted them. I thought it might be alphabetical but it doesn't appear so.. please make this update a priority
