After update to 16.73 Outlook for Mac, Yahoo mail keeps re-syncing and reloading. Changes made in Outlook AND Yahoo are not syncing.

This has been going on since May. Microsoft appears to be uninterested in fixing this. I can't believe that a company with MS' ability can't fix this in short order! Also, their official work about - New Outlook is a disaster. It also appears to have sync problems. For a number of weeks it was unable to fully sync the Yahoo Inbox. That seems to have been rectified by me uninstalling the account and reinstalling it. But new Outlook has many other shortcomings some of which are appended below. I think the time has come to request compensation from MS. We are paying our subscription for 365 yet one of the main programs I am paying for - Outlook does not work as advertised. It has not been fit for purpose since May and their workabout - New Oulook is also not fit for purpose. Appended below is just a few of maladies of New Outlook thst I have noticed. Lets start demanding compensation!

Rules don’t work

Can’t move folders

Can’t create a new folder

Can’t zoom when replying to an email or writing a new email

White listing and black listing not possible

Reading pane settings in junk folder don’t stick

Randomly, from time to time, the message “move” command does not work

The reading pane of the junk folder has to be set every time one uses the folder - PITA!

Can’t move multiple emails to another folder

Does not synch all the older emails in the online version of Yahoo - a basic IMAP function

I am paying for a 365 subscription and since May a major reason for me having it, Outlook, is not working. Due tom the sync issue with Yahoo I need a clear answer from MS whether this will ever be fixed so that I can move on and cancel my subscription and find something that works. This is just a disgusting performance!

Excellent summary Rocleaner of M$'s **** we all have put up with since May. Outlook for the Mac, legacy and New, both suck. Obviously M$ doesn't give a dung and is absolutely tone deaf. I have to include writers and pundits who routinely report on M$ issues and inside the M$ world. These folks are also tone deaf - I would think they would use their influence and audience to get M$ to take action.

I am so frustrated with everything Microsoft and I'm ready to cancel my Office account. Windows 11 - will never happen!

If this is the best M$ can offer, they need to be broken up.

It is amazing that so many updates to Outlook have apparently been applied since this came up and still there is no resolution.

Years and years of using Outlook without a problem with a Yahoo! account and now it's all broken to the point that move, delete, and even viewing messages simply doesn't work correctly at all.

What's worse is that there are even MORE issues if one switches to the "New Outlook" interface--like access to local folders being impossible.

I've tried to add my yahoo account again to microsoft outlook.

I've received the same error(s). for the folders.

Same for every folder in my yahoo mailbox.

Then it somehow forgets all the updates (deleted messages, read messages) like nothing happened and I have to select those emails as read all over again, move them, etc.

Only Yahoo (Australia but I assume that doesn't matter really) mailbox does this, Gmail, outlook.com, company mails working fine.

I got no other error messages.

I also have had this issue since 16.73 of Outlook for mac 365 (preview version). If you read your mail in a IMAP account, it will mark it as read with no issues, but if you try anything else: delete, mark as SPAM or not SPAM, move to another IMAP folder, it will initiate the flush/reload. You can drag/drop an email or group of them to a local folder, but you lose the account information on the ones copied (not that helpful). I have resorted to just reading email with Outlook IMAP and doing all deletes, moves, etc., with the web client for Frontier Yahoo. At least the web client will let me stay logged in to my 4 accounts, but you have to switch accounts by hovering the mouse over the account (you can only view one account at a time). Not that convenient, but it's not a ton of work in my case. I have my 4 accounts also setup as POP3 in Outlook, so I do most of the sorting to local folders with the fetched POP mail. Until now. With version 16.78 (I updated yesterday), POP3 fetching is broken. It keeps asking if I want to re-enter my password because login failed. I know they are correct because the IMAP is working, but I re-entered them again anyway, in case the keychain somehow got corrupted, but after a few tries, I determined Frontier Yahoo POP3 does not work with Outlook as of 16.78. I am running the "legacy" version because POP3 is too buggy in the new version, at least with Frontier Yahoo, and I also don't want to be forced to load everything up to the Microsoft cloud. When I tried the new version yesterday (not on my main system), I couldn't seem to create a POP3 account for Frontier Yahoo, only IMAP. I was able to put in all the correct information on the generic POP account setup, but it wouldn't connect to Frontier Yahoo, so maybe it's the login process that is broken with POP3 in the new version as well, at least with Frontier Yahoo. Very frustrating. I do most of my work with the fetched POP mail, so if they can't fix this soon, I'll probably switch to Thunderbird or some other client with good support to POP3 and local folders.
