After update to 16.73 Outlook for Mac, Yahoo mail keeps re-syncing and reloading. Changes made in Outlook AND Yahoo are not syncing.

Prior to this update, I had no issue with Outlook for Mac and Yahoo. I just updated to 16.73 (23051401). After updating, I had many problems with the Yahoo mail from within Outlook. It worked for the first 15 minutes, then got login errors and IMAP errors. I deleted the Yahoo account from Outlook and then quit. I then went back to Yahoo and got a new app password. I restarted Outlook and added the new app password obtained from Yahoo. It worked for the first 15 minutes then started to suddenly empty out all emails in all folders. Then the emails would eventually re-sync and reload from Yahoo. This now happens constantly. I tried the same uninstall reinstall process again, and nothing changed. Now also changes I make within Yahoo via my browser are not reflected in Outlook and changes made to Yahoo mail within Outlook are not saved when the emails clear, res-sync and reload, and they are not reflected in Yahoo online either. It's stuck in a loop. New emails DO ARRIVE and get added to the loop. Also there is a constant attempt to recreate the basic Yahoo folders: Drafts, Archive, Junk, Bulk. I get error messages saying can't be installed because they already exist - which they do! Why is it trying to reinstall them as if it is a new connection with Yahoo?

My setup is the following using OUTLOOK for MAC - BUT NOT NEW OUTLOOK. New Outlook does not support all the folders I have created over the years for organization and am unwilling to lose. I have a 16 inch MBPro M1 Max chip. Running Monterey 12.6.5.

AS a side note, I have for the past year or more had problems where white-listing emails does not work. Outlook is putting emails of people I email with regularly into SPAM. I whitelisted many of them, but Outlook is ignoring the classification and still putting those emails into SPAM.

    I'm too lazy to review the previous 20 pages... and forget if it happens in both Yahoo added as a Microsoft cloud account and as IMAP... but if you have it added as a cloud account, try IMAP and if imap, try cloud.

    cCoud accounts sync calendar & contacts from the server to Microsoft servers then add the account using an Exchange-like protocol and is supported for Gmail, yahoo, and iCloud accounts.

    To check the account type: tools > accounts > select account. Do you see the IMAP server names? If not, its a cloud account.

    To use Microsoft cloud accounts:

    Enter the address and let Outlook find it and set it up.

    To use imap:

    After Outlook finds the account, click Not Yahoo in the upper right corner then choose IMAP on the next page. If you see a slider for Microsoft cloud, slide it off (its above the account type buttons and may or may not be present.)

    Anyone know how to export all your New Outlook for the Mac email folders including those in On My Computer??  Thanks.

    I'm not aware of a way right now... but maybe it will work in the fall?

    BTW... "half-baked, work in progress New Outlook."

    +1000. Its actually not too bad if you use an outlook.com or Microsoft 365 exchange work or school account.

    But I hate the "Microsoft cloud sync" - give me IMAP and support for caldav and carddav.

    I am just a consumer Diane, I don't know what it means to open Terminal . . .

    Open Launchpad, start typing terminal in the search field and open it when it comes up.

    Just replying to Retired Geek's question. Fully aware and suffering too with the Out;look Yahoo IMAP problem. It's the reason I am in this thread looking for answers.

    I can access my calendar, contacts and my 2 email accounts, i.e., Epix.net (Yahoo) & Outllok.com, via just the Outlook app all my devices which include my iPhone, Win10 desktop and of course my Mac desktop.  That’s not the problem.

    Let me explain it another way. On a Windows machine all Outlook emails were stored in .PST files which were clearly visible in Windows file manager. They could be easily copied, if desired, to any other folder or device, internal or external.

    Not so on a Mac desktop with NEW Outlook. There are no .pst files or any other discernible Outlook files that I can identify in Finder. Moreover, there is no export option in the NEW outlook, however; in the Mac Legacy edition there was an export option. There is no way I would go back to legacy outlook at this point.

    So, how does one export their New Outlook for Apple accounts/folders, including On My Computer, to an external physical file that I can store on another system??
