After update to 16.73 Outlook for Mac, Yahoo mail keeps re-syncing and reloading. Changes made in Outlook AND Yahoo are not syncing.

Prior to this update, I had no issue with Outlook for Mac and Yahoo. I just updated to 16.73 (23051401). After updating, I had many problems with the Yahoo mail from within Outlook. It worked for the first 15 minutes, then got login errors and IMAP errors. I deleted the Yahoo account from Outlook and then quit. I then went back to Yahoo and got a new app password. I restarted Outlook and added the new app password obtained from Yahoo. It worked for the first 15 minutes then started to suddenly empty out all emails in all folders. Then the emails would eventually re-sync and reload from Yahoo. This now happens constantly. I tried the same uninstall reinstall process again, and nothing changed. Now also changes I make within Yahoo via my browser are not reflected in Outlook and changes made to Yahoo mail within Outlook are not saved when the emails clear, res-sync and reload, and they are not reflected in Yahoo online either. It's stuck in a loop. New emails DO ARRIVE and get added to the loop. Also there is a constant attempt to recreate the basic Yahoo folders: Drafts, Archive, Junk, Bulk. I get error messages saying can't be installed because they already exist - which they do! Why is it trying to reinstall them as if it is a new connection with Yahoo?

My setup is the following using OUTLOOK for MAC - BUT NOT NEW OUTLOOK. New Outlook does not support all the folders I have created over the years for organization and am unwilling to lose. I have a 16 inch MBPro M1 Max chip. Running Monterey 12.6.5.

AS a side note, I have for the past year or more had problems where white-listing emails does not work. Outlook is putting emails of people I email with regularly into SPAM. I whitelisted many of them, but Outlook is ignoring the classification and still putting those emails into SPAM.

Yet ANOTHER Outlook for Mac update, 16.74.23062500, but I see no release info...anyone have any clue? I will wait to update for a reasonable while. You can't say that Microsoft isn't working on Outlook for us -- but how useful is it all? Sigh...

I was using Mac Mail for my IMAP Yahoo and worked, but isn't very smooth. I upgraded to the new Outlook and changed some of the setting to customize so it doesnt look and feel like gmail, but is lacking full customization. Everything upgraded successfully even my calendar (which was previously missing when after this legacy Outlook stuff happened). New Outlook didn't "erase and re add". It was pretty consistent over 3 days, but is still really awkward and unpleasant so I switched back to the Legacy Outlook. Took about 1 minute and everything disappeared again. :(

So what am I saying? The new Outlook works fine without the issues, and all my calendars and folders and subfolder propagated but took about an hour. I was able to change the view so it didnt look like gmail, but I couldnt make the left hand column white...it maintained the grayish color which was really annoying. When I went back to Legacy, the Calendar disappeared again.

I'm back to Mac Mail until this nonsense is fixed, or MS allows for more visual customizations on New Outlook.

Legacy Outlook for Mac (16.74.2 23062500) hasn't fixed the sync problem for me.

Same issues and I think my previous attempt to use it last week may have duplicated messages on the Yahoo servers...they show old messages in my Sent folder as being all "resent" on June 21 and May 16.

Similar but not identical issue in the one folder that I use most frequently "Receipts". Some emails in that folder are duplicates but only those that have been received on or after June 15th. I suspect that moving emails to the Receipts folder in Outook sometimes synched. When they didn't appear to have synched in Outlook, I used Apple Mail to move them....this may have caused the duplication.

I have officially given up on Outlook for Mac Legacy and will use Apple Mail exclusively until this has been definitively fixed. (Not sure if the issue has been fixed for New Outlook however I don't like the New Outlook because I can't rearrange the column orders so wouldn't use that until that feature is added.)

Yeah, the release notes for Build 23062500 now say that, "Fixed an issue where Outlook would close unexpectedly when printing the calendar." Ah, well, we can keep hoping!

I wonder if Microsoft even cares about fixing this problem. We can't use a competitor's email on a competitor's PC platform. There's a "fix" by moving to the new version they desperately want us on.

    I'm not feeling optimistic...

This has driven me insane for about 3 weeks now with the disappearing emails and folders and then the resynching process starts all over again. Hours and productivity have bee lost. Whatever I am working on is lost and I keep deleting the same emails. I have spend hours this week on the phone with AOL who made me pay for support to delete and recreate my email account -- which did not solve my problem and then told me to call Microsoft. I called Microsoft at least 3 times where they had me create a new profile and recreate my email accounts with the same failed outcome. They then told me this was an emerging issue, and suggested that I update to a newer version of software.

I am begging for help and a resolution.
