After update to 16.73 Outlook for Mac, Yahoo mail keeps re-syncing and reloading. Changes made in Outlook AND Yahoo are not syncing.

Prior to this update, I had no issue with Outlook for Mac and Yahoo. I just updated to 16.73 (23051401). After updating, I had many problems with the Yahoo mail from within Outlook. It worked for the first 15 minutes, then got login errors and IMAP errors. I deleted the Yahoo account from Outlook and then quit. I then went back to Yahoo and got a new app password. I restarted Outlook and added the new app password obtained from Yahoo. It worked for the first 15 minutes then started to suddenly empty out all emails in all folders. Then the emails would eventually re-sync and reload from Yahoo. This now happens constantly. I tried the same uninstall reinstall process again, and nothing changed. Now also changes I make within Yahoo via my browser are not reflected in Outlook and changes made to Yahoo mail within Outlook are not saved when the emails clear, res-sync and reload, and they are not reflected in Yahoo online either. It's stuck in a loop. New emails DO ARRIVE and get added to the loop. Also there is a constant attempt to recreate the basic Yahoo folders: Drafts, Archive, Junk, Bulk. I get error messages saying can't be installed because they already exist - which they do! Why is it trying to reinstall them as if it is a new connection with Yahoo?

My setup is the following using OUTLOOK for MAC - BUT NOT NEW OUTLOOK. New Outlook does not support all the folders I have created over the years for organization and am unwilling to lose. I have a 16 inch MBPro M1 Max chip. Running Monterey 12.6.5.

AS a side note, I have for the past year or more had problems where white-listing emails does not work. Outlook is putting emails of people I email with regularly into SPAM. I whitelisted many of them, but Outlook is ignoring the classification and still putting those emails into SPAM.

    Same issues, thought it was my old bellsouth accounts not being compatible with updates. Emails and Folders duplicated copies and tripled copies. Though maybe New Outlook would be best to move to, not. Moved, the emails and folders move fine and did not double or triple copy but I could not move emails to My Computer folder nor create new folders, all the folder icons were greyed out, not good. Decided online support. Told to copy emails, move to desktop folder then delete account. Add the account back and copy back from desktop. Works for one email at a time but not for hundreds of emails. Locked up and had to force quit Outlook. Decide to revert back to old outlook after much deliberation and anxiety not to lose data. Deleted both the bellsouth accounts and added back in. All the duplicates went away, nice! But! Back to sync and emails blanking out and reloading. Personally I think update created a sync problem but not sure if it's bellsouth.net (Yahoo/ATT) email accounts as my gmail accounts are fine. Not going back to New Outlook until the create folder and email move feature glitches are solved. Two days at this mess. Seems everyone is commenting on this as all this is recent. Glad I'm computer savvy and hate to be someone who is not computer literate.

    I wonder if there is a .plist to delete that might help. Somehow that seems to be part of many Mac App odd behavior issues.

    I've been having the same problem. To take it a bit further, I've watched when it fails. It reports Synch errors for all the folders I have. It downloads, successfully, but appears to upload back to yahoo, and fails. I get the balloon, and the empty inbox, where it starts all over again. i have 10k email so takes about an hour to Synch and fail and repeat.

    I've also followed the directions and removed the Outlook cache on my Mac. No change. Very frustrating.

    So, I'm thinking if this thread stays very active, it may catch the attention of Microsoft???

    My strategy this morning was, as usual, to go to my sbcglobal.net (yahoo) email inbox, delete items or move to spam as necessary, then open Outlook, unclick "Work Offline," hold my breath till the Inbox syncs, then quickly re-click "Work Offline," then quickly open all my other Outlook folders to see if they're still intact (they are).

    I guess this will be my approach until, fingers crossed, the next Outlook update fixes this mess, or I find a fix from someone online more technically inclined than I am.

    Microsoft! Can you weigh in, PLEASE?
