After update to 16.73 Outlook for Mac, Yahoo mail keeps re-syncing and reloading. Changes made in Outlook AND Yahoo are not syncing.

Prior to this update, I had no issue with Outlook for Mac and Yahoo. I just updated to 16.73 (23051401). After updating, I had many problems with the Yahoo mail from within Outlook. It worked for the first 15 minutes, then got login errors and IMAP errors. I deleted the Yahoo account from Outlook and then quit. I then went back to Yahoo and got a new app password. I restarted Outlook and added the new app password obtained from Yahoo. It worked for the first 15 minutes then started to suddenly empty out all emails in all folders. Then the emails would eventually re-sync and reload from Yahoo. This now happens constantly. I tried the same uninstall reinstall process again, and nothing changed. Now also changes I make within Yahoo via my browser are not reflected in Outlook and changes made to Yahoo mail within Outlook are not saved when the emails clear, res-sync and reload, and they are not reflected in Yahoo online either. It's stuck in a loop. New emails DO ARRIVE and get added to the loop. Also there is a constant attempt to recreate the basic Yahoo folders: Drafts, Archive, Junk, Bulk. I get error messages saying can't be installed because they already exist - which they do! Why is it trying to reinstall them as if it is a new connection with Yahoo?

My setup is the following using OUTLOOK for MAC - BUT NOT NEW OUTLOOK. New Outlook does not support all the folders I have created over the years for organization and am unwilling to lose. I have a 16 inch MBPro M1 Max chip. Running Monterey 12.6.5.

AS a side note, I have for the past year or more had problems where white-listing emails does not work. Outlook is putting emails of people I email with regularly into SPAM. I whitelisted many of them, but Outlook is ignoring the classification and still putting those emails into SPAM.

    It seems till others can confirm a working New Outlook for both syncing files with Yahoo and AOL, allowing email drag and drop between folders and other accounts, to My Computer and the likes, I'll monitor this blog and stay with old till then. I use 3 gmail accounts for household and business, will be deleting my bellsouth.net (Yahoo) accounts once I'm sure everything has been accounted for. Probably have 25 to 30 years plus using MS products and losing faith in reliability, especially old emails is not good. Can't tell you the number of times looking back several years to confirm needed email information. I can wait a little time on Outlook to correct problems, but if I have to migrate to new Outlook and it is not smooth after all the work I have put in, I'll seek other options. Need a reliable service that does not depend heavily on internet connection, cloud connection and any other constant connection with the web. Download, disconnect if need to, read and file, it's that simple. Sync with old Outlook worked flawless till changes were made. I don't believe Microsoft knows how much or how bad they have made it. Of course those who are not computer literate will end up wiping their laptops or computers, losing information and more. Worked in IT for 30 years, I know how this can happen.

    Has anyone switched to the New Outlook who can confirm/deny that switching solves this issue? I could have sworn I'd seen earlier posts where users said they tried both versions and neither was working properly. Or maybe Microsoft has fixed it with last week's release, but only in the New Outlook?

    I tried switching and Yahoo sync seems to work well but I did not use it that long. The new outlook does not support transferring emails between accounts by dragging and dropping and they removed tasks which is a deal breaker for me.

    Microsoft is moving tasks to MS To-do which does not support multiple accounts and does not support outlook.com accounts which is important to me.

    legacy Outlook will be around for a long time... new Outlook now supports on my computer folders - it should offer to import them from legacy to new when you switch.

    If Microsoft is not planning on supporting Old Outlook and not planning on supporting local folders in New Outlook, does anyone know a good email program that DOES support local folders?
