Using older versions of Outlook for Mac in business environments
David – I care. I have been following and contributing to this thread since shortly after your original post. In my almost 60 years of tech experience, I have never encountered such disappointing and lack of concern from a major software company.
Equally disappointing is the near zero support from the many major tech pundits like CNET, ZDNET, PCMag, AskWoody, Apple and Microsoft support, various Outlook Newsletters, Slipstick, and major Outlook MVP’s. Outlook, as a mainstream product from one of the biggest tech companies in the world, affecting millions of users just can’t get it right. M$ solution to date is to use the NEW Outlook which is half baked and crippled.
I must include Apple in this fiasco. If they were truly concerned about their customer’s I would think they would apply some weight on Microsoft instead of saying not our problem – try MAC Mail. Another lightweight limited function email client. Plus trying to extract Outlook’s On My Computer folders on a MAC is not a straight forward process.
I have explored other email clients but none are any better than Outlook and I’m to old, to tired to learn another email client and then try to salvage my many years of Outlook emails.
But what I will do is find Satya Nadella’s email address and send him this entire thread, once every few weeks. Nobody below him is listening. Maybe some of the frustrated folks in this predicament can do the same.
