I can't believe I have to ask something so dumb but how to I make Outlook ask me every time where to save the email attachments that I am downloading instead of automatically putting them in the Downloads folder?

Outlook | Windows | Classic Outlook for Windows | For home

I was chalking this up to sheer laziness, but frustrating users into using OneDrive for storage seems much more likely. I really hate it when companies try this stuff.

Still a slightly different behavior here:

    • Download does NOTHING (the file cannot be found anywhere on disk or on OneDrive)
    • Save to OneDrive works but obviously defeats the intial purpose of downloading an attachment locally

MSFT devs, it's 2023, try to stop having people push useless stuff on the cloud and waste petabytes of storage...

Overall I like the new Outlook 2023 but this feature makes me want to scream

I have the same issue. However, when converting my outlook back to the old version it does not show any of the emails received since I switched to the new version. Did you have the same problem?

    Any help is greatly appreciated

Same thing with me. Hope to be fixed shortly.

And btw, another frustrating issue is that New Outlook does not support directly sharing of office files e,g, ,docx, as old desktop outlook does. You get that message:

Unbelievable that Microsoft would make a new version like this available and SCREW UP SUCH A BASIC FUNCTION.

    Gawd awful, Microsoft. Nearly unbelievable.
