Change default location for downloading attachments

I can't believe I have to ask something so dumb but how to I make Outlook ask me every time where to save the email attachments that I am downloading instead of automatically putting them in the Downloads folder?

    At least it is now confirmed by many users that "save as" indeed worked for awhile but not anymore.
    Let's keep this thread alive and please reply here if you find anything or hear if fix is coming.

    It may be helpful for the initial request, but still not a solution to the "Save as..." issue.

    They added it and then removed it. What's more annoying than that...

    OMG just realized that. They took it back!!!! Why the hell did they do that?

    I found this page helpful, it worked for me - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/troubleshoot/data-files/how-to-change-the-folder-where-emails-and-attachments-saved

    It involves editing the registry, but that's much quicker than searching through a bunch of pages trying to find an answer for a simple problem. Essentially:

    • Open regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options (change 16.0 to whatever your version is; you can either go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\ and look for the latest version there, or try 15.0 or 12.0 or 11.0 if 16.0 doesn't exist for you)
    • Create a new string value by going to Edit>New>String Value. Name it DefaultPath.
    • Edit this new string value by double-clicking it and put in the full directory path for the folder you would like to set as your default attachment downloads folder (eg: C:\Users\USERNAME\Downloads). Click OK and exit regedit. That's it.
