I can't believe I have to ask something so dumb but how to I make Outlook ask me every time where to save the email attachments that I am downloading instead of automatically putting them in the Downloads folder?

Outlook | Windows | Classic Outlook for Windows | For home

every version of MSFT products from windows to office have moved away from useability and moved toward steeling data and making peoples life harder. .... but pretty.. win XP and office 2000 was the last version of MSFT products based around getting a job done. now you have to jump though hoops around advanced features .000001% of users use to just to perform basic tasks. MSFT needs a productivity version.. strip the bells and whistles that waste resources to "look pretty" and give me a software thats useable with little overhead.

***Update: Downloads are working now, maybe MS adjusted the bugs after some days the new version was launched.***

The only way to download more files is using the 'save all attachments in OneDrive' (1) and go to One Drive> Attachments (2).

This process is so complicated, it's like the app turned the Outlook web version.

We really need files saved in our local network and not just in One Drive @support team

Hi, I am trying the new Outlook version and I've got the same issue for downloads. I can successfully download 4 or less files, but when I try to download more it just doesn't work and looks more restrict than the older Outlook version.

Is there any update about this? We are providing a relevant feedback for this demo version here and looks like no one resolved this. Thanks!

Unbelievable that Microsoft would make a new version like this available and SCREW UP SUCH A BASIC FUNCTION.

    Gawd awful, Microsoft. Nearly unbelievable.

Same thing with me. Hope to be fixed shortly.

And btw, another frustrating issue is that New Outlook does not support directly sharing of office files e,g, ,docx, as old desktop outlook does. You get that message:
