Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Change default location for downloading attachments
I can't believe I have to ask something so dumb but how to I make Outlook ask me every time where to save the email attachments that I am downloading instead of automatically putting them in the Downloads folder?
Outlook | Windows | Classic Outlook for Windows | For home

2024-02-21T14:19:32+00:00 I have the same versions
You have Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.207.500 (Production). Client Version is 20240209002.12 .
And I am asked where to save the attachment. Don't know why this happens to you. Wait a few days, in my case when new outlook upgraded to the new versions took some days the problem to be fixed

2024-02-06T03:59:57+00:00 I had someone that actually reached out as they preferred the attachments automatically going into the downloads folder as it was a 1 click experience.
I couldn't find any option to specify download to "Downloads" or ask every time like Edge for example has.
Is this something we can change back?
Client Version is 20240126002.12

2024-01-12T17:46:42+00:00 FINALLY! I could not find my way back to this thread to update, and I've been waiting for a reply notification. They updated this about a week, maybe two weeks ago. This was such a small and dumb yet biggest annoyance ever, and it's finally fixed! Thank you for posting the change :)
