I can't believe I have to ask something so dumb but how to I make Outlook ask me every time where to save the email attachments that I am downloading instead of automatically putting them in the Downloads folder?

Same thing with me. Hope to be fixed shortly.

And btw, another frustrating issue is that New Outlook does not support directly sharing of office files e,g, ,docx, as old desktop outlook does. You get that message:

I've gone back to the browser version, because of the saving thing. I like the desktop version too (not the new one), but it's basically the same as the browser version. I have 3 different PCs and a Mac that I use on a regular basis, so the browser version is best for me anyway.

    Dear Diana,

Outlook does have many many differencent versions for different customers's use. From you screenshot, the version you are using is not as same as common versions our Microsoft365 customers use.

So, will you please let me know how you get the Outlook, and where did you download it, and how do you open this app to add your account into it? Are you using PWA: Use the web version of Outlook like a desktop app - Microsoft Support? And for the account you are using, is it a Microsoft365 account or personal account (which is ended with outlook.com or hotmail.com) or some other 3rd party pop/imap account?

I need to know some more information about the version first then I can check for you about the downloading issues, thanks for your understanding! In case some private information included, will you please send via private message:

Here are the steps to open private messages:

To view private messaging options> click your profile picture at the top on the right > select the My Profile option. Click View private message.

I look forward to your next update in private message for further analysis. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day!
