How to Open a .PST file from the new outlook. File menu disapeared

Hi,

I tried the new Outlook for windows, I realized the File menu -and others- disappeared.

How can I open a .PST file? to work on old mail files?

I have a folder structure in my PC documents area organised by subjects and drag my emails into each area for history on each subject instead of using a .PST file. I tried to drag a email into my folders directly from the new Outlook for testing and my emails do not come across as expected. It looks like the new outlook will not allow this function for storing emails with my other documents in each folder.

I can do it with my current Office 10 Outlook version and open the email from where I have placed them, is this function going to be in the new Outlook. It makes sense to group all my documents in one spot together on each subject and open them from where they are stored. That way there is no need for a .PST file if you like to do this.

I do not want to keep my emails on the cloud.

There are environments that require email to be kept locally.

For now, you can click the "Try the new Outlook"  Off  to continue using the current Outlook with access to pst files.

I am concerned this option may go away. I hope the new Outlook will eventually support a local pst file.

I did not upgrade Outlook from an older version. I installed the new Outlook so I don't seem to have access to the toggle that will display classic Outlook. So I assume that I'll simply have to wait to access my history of emails until this feature is supported? Any idea when that might be?

The updated Outlook said PST is not "currently" supported, implying it may be supported in the future.

Local PST support is crucial for closed local networks (security, privacy, ...).

Many computer networks are local only and do not, cannot keep shared information on an Internet cloud.

The PST file support feature is still "coming soon"
What does "soon" really mean? For my dog, 1 year is like 1/12th of his life (he's a big boy)
But for the planet... a year is nothing.
Seeing as most software lives at most a decade, I'm going with big dog time scales.
This "coming soon" feature has probably been potty-trained but still chews on your shoes.
