When clicking a PDF attached to a message on the NEW outlook 2023 ( Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.427.500 (Production) Client Version is 20230421002.12) ,There is a Preview screen that opens to the left of the message with the PDF.
If I would like, for instance, to sign or add text to the PDF document I have received , there is no way I can open it in Adobe Acrobat unless I download, save to my PC (also very complicated...see my previous question in this forum) and then double click to open.
Can someone direct me please to a better way?

Hi It has been nearly a year, please tell me you have fixed this?
Workaround,
I had to find an easier option since this has been killing my workflow at the office.
This workaround doesn't fix the problem it just makes it a bit easier to open, edit and drag and drop files in a folder.
I hope this helps a little until MS updates the critical error. Seriously, this is the biggest set back they have had in years and I'm so disappointed in them.
So here we go...
open up your Outlook in MS Edge browser, not the desktop version.
once open click on your attachment in your email.
click download. Yes I know you are saying "wth" but bare with me
The downloads box from the Edge browser appears in the upper right corner.
Click open file and it will open in adobe reader/acrobat. If you have system viewer on, it will open pdf in separate window.
from there you can highlight and add text on pdf before saving.
Also, you can drag and drop the pdf file in the browsers download box to any file explorer folder on your laptop/desktop with no problem.
This will at least save a few steps.

I am having this same issue. You can't do a search go to certain pages by entering that number, much of the things you can normally do in the old version when you open a PDF you can not in the new version. While I like the new version, I am strongly considering going back to the old version just for this purpose.
Why always try to change thing that people are use too and works well?
