When clicking a PDF attached to a message on the NEW outlook 2023 ( Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.427.500 (Production) Client Version is 20230421002.12) ,There is a Preview screen that opens to the left of the message with the PDF.
If I would like, for instance, to sign or add text to the PDF document I have received , there is no way I can open it in Adobe Acrobat unless I download, save to my PC (also very complicated...see my previous question in this forum) and then double click to open.
Can someone direct me please to a better way?

Same challenge here so i am also interested in getting a good answer (which is also a good solution) to this topic.
The fact that, in the new Outlook client, you cannot open an attached PDF file directly from the email is a weakness that creates a lot of frustration for many. If it is desirable for people to switch to the new Outlook client, this is a functionality that should be resolved as soon as possible. At the very least, one should be able to open the PDF attachment directly in Edge (without downloading the file first).
This is bananas - you should be able to open a file with its native app instead of a previewer.
Please see Microsoft Reply, the features are not available on new outlook.
We have investigated the issue please be informed that this feature "Open attachment without downloading" is not yet added to the new Outlook, and this is by design. It might be considered in future builds. Outlook does not push out the notifications for the emails that are moved to different folders with the rule set on Desktop. The product team has been made aware, and they are actively working on it. At this point, we have no final date available to announce as to when it will be rolled out, as it is too early in the process, hence ETA is still unknown., Also. we recommend you post your feedback to our product development team so that they can work on it in the future. Submit the feedback within the Outlook application via Help > Feedback. Also, the feature for moving attachments from an email to a different folder is not yet available in the new Outlook.
Thanks for asking this, I'm in the same boat. Reverting back to older version of Outlook as there is no integration with Adobe Pro.
