I was having an issue figuring out how the spell check worked. My coworker said when you are in a New Message window, and the Message tab, at the top far right of the ribbon, click the "..." and go down to Editor, and then Editor Settings.

At first, when I tried this, Editor was greyed out, but it might have been because I was already in the middle of composing an email. When I opened a new message I was able to get to the Editor Settings.

All the settings were already enabled, but it seemed I had to open the Editor settings at least once for it to "activate" Now spell check works in my Outlook.

Right-clicking a misspelled word won't work. You have to left-click the word to see the spell-check suggestions.

    Using New Outlook on my Windows 10 desktop, having managed to get the elusive Editor via the steps in my post of 24 Nov, when I left click a word this is what I get - spelling options plus synonyms. Right click just gives emoji and paste. When you click Editor you get list on right.

    And what about the loss of the "synonym" menu option that was appearing when right clicking on any word? Am I the only one missing it?

    I think this was the most powerful and useful feature to use, when composing an email.
    I know that I can always Google for synonyms of any word elsewhere, but this is the feature that I miss the most writing an email.

    You are correct. I don't have the editor as an option so I must be in Windows 11. I thought I was going crazy!

    Hi, The tall One,

    Sorry you cannot get Editor and spellings with actions I have posted.

    Works fine for me. I am on Windows 10 desktop not Windows11 like you and not sure if that makes a difference.
