I was having an issue figuring out how the spell check worked. My coworker said when you are in a New Message window, and the Message tab, at the top far right of the ribbon, click the "..." and go down to Editor, and then Editor Settings.

At first, when I tried this, Editor was greyed out, but it might have been because I was already in the middle of composing an email. When I opened a new message I was able to get to the Editor Settings.

All the settings were already enabled, but it seemed I had to open the Editor settings at least once for it to "activate" Now spell check works in my Outlook.

Right-clicking a misspelled word won't work. You have to left-click the word to see the spell-check suggestions.

    I spoke to two MSFT techs both said spell check was not included in the current version of the new outlook app, but might be included in a future release.

    both said to stick with the old app as long as possible. spell check in outlook.com is working and the android version seems to be working ( or swiftkey is doing the spell check on android). somewhere in the MSFT release notes it is recognized that spell check is not working and its under investigation.

    Keeping the old app version ( or using the old version of windows mail) is annoying because of all the nagging to switch to the new app(s).

    I think its best to use a different email program, MSFT has become useless.

    If you add in all the spam that started hitting a lot of accounts since the new version was introduced you have to ask why waste anymore time on this.

    I'm in the process of moving to gmail and possibly use thunderbird for desktop use. will be cancelling msft 365 when the year is up. I'm an insider for beta testing windows and office ( but not outlook) and have had enough.

    In reference to this doc, (New Outlook for Windows Preview (office.com)) Rich editing, spelling, and auto complete suggestions powered by Microsoft Editor were automatically added to the New Outlook version. There is no specific setting to turn this on. We do apologize if we are not able to meet your requirements.

    Is this still a "work in progress" a year later? My spellcheck in emails in New Outlook (Mac) no longer works, neither does the Translate add- on. Documents from the "Recent" Word folder are often inaccessible.

    I was getting help from a senior adviser but still needed more help - it was excruciating setting up the original call. Now despite numerous emails, he no longer responds.

    I have had to return to using an MS 365 Outlook account from an academic association I had. I want to standardize the 'new' mail program across my various systems because I like the new look, but cannot tolerate the appalling lack of functionality. Why Microsoft would release a program with so many bugs and take ease of function away, rather than offer new enhancements is an indicator that something is corporately amiss.

    Why would Microsoft remove such a valuable feature like 'check before sending' from new outlook. This is a safety net for anyone that has issues with spelling or makes small errors whilst typing emails, especially where shortcuts (CTRL&ENTER) are used to send emails.

    The manual way of checking spellings and adjusted mistakes is painfully slow and not as user friendly.
