I was having an issue figuring out how the spell check worked. My coworker said when you are in a New Message window, and the Message tab, at the top far right of the ribbon, click the "..." and go down to Editor, and then Editor Settings.

At first, when I tried this, Editor was greyed out, but it might have been because I was already in the middle of composing an email. When I opened a new message I was able to get to the Editor Settings.

All the settings were already enabled, but it seemed I had to open the Editor settings at least once for it to "activate" Now spell check works in my Outlook.

Right-clicking a misspelled word won't work. You have to left-click the word to see the spell-check suggestions.

    This is very weird because I have full spell check facilities if I compose, or reply to, an email in a New Window – every time. 
    I will just run through my situation and how I get the spell checker to work: 
    Software:
    Desktop Outlook Version 1.2024.319.300 (Production).

    OS:
    Windows 11 Home, Version 22H2, OS build 22621.3296, Feature Experience Pack 1000.22687.1000.0

    To compose a new message: 
    a.  Ctr+N or click New Message. 

    b.  In the window provided, click the top right button (rectangle with arrow) to Open In New Window, compose email.

    To reply to an email:

    a.  Click Reply as usual.

    b.  In the window provided, click the top right button (rectangle with arrow) to Open In New Window, compose reply.

    NB The pic above shows that it is possible to set this up as a default means of responding.

    Having done either of those things I then have spell checker as usual, i.e. incorrect spelling is highlighted with red squiggles and right click offers corrections.

    I can’t see why it wouldn’t work for all users, but it appears maybe not?  Perhaps the Windows version has something to do with it? 
    However, just a reminder that I am just a user like yourself, so if it doesn’t work, it’s not down to me!!
