No 'SAVE AS' option for attachments in new Outlook desktop app

Dear All,

Outlook offered to switch my application to the new Outlook version (there is a switch item below the window close button).

It looks like the in-browser version and works better than the former, but it has a missing option in the attachments drop-down menu, called 'save as'.

We get a lot of documents in our emails, which should be saved in different projects' locations on a local hard drive. The in-browser version and the former desktop app have this option but this new app does not.

How can I add this function back again?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

István

I also had the same situation, recently when clicked on the Download option, it showed the window that you can choose the location to save file. But now, I thought it went back to BS again when now it goes straght to dowload folder. What the.... MS????

For about three weeks, it seemed the issue with filing attachments was solved. But about two days ago, New Outlook reverted to the old problem. I suggest that it may have arisen in the latest revision from Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.207.500 (Production) (where it worked) to Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.214.400 (where it does not).

I can't comment about the versions. All I know is MS has screwed up and seems to have no interest in fixing the mess they have created.

Yes, it was working fine there for a while. However I noticed today that Outlook was no longer prompting where to download the attachment, but was automatically downloading the file to the "downloads" folder, so were are back to the situation where we have to tediously copy all downloaded files to where we want them.

I don't believe it can be so difficult to fix this issue.....

    Hi all,

I'm also missing this "basic" feature which disapeared.

I recently found that previewing the attachment, then clicking on the preview and pressing CTRL+S shows the "save as" dialog box.

This works at least for PDF files, in the french Outlook version.

Hope it helps until the original feature comes back again...

    P.
