No 'SAVE AS' option for attachments in new Outlook desktop app

Dear All,

Outlook offered to switch my application to the new Outlook version (there is a switch item below the window close button).

It looks like the in-browser version and works better than the former, but it has a missing option in the attachments drop-down menu, called 'save as'.

We get a lot of documents in our emails, which should be saved in different projects' locations on a local hard drive. The in-browser version and the former desktop app have this option but this new app does not.

How can I add this function back again?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

István

Was able to find the Save As function this way...but when clicked, nothing happened. That said, it seems like there is a way for them to just move this functionality inside the main App window. Also, I still want to be able to Drag N Drop into a folder on Windows Explorer. That's the key.

I need to save images to a network drive. So, I stumbled on a way by clicking on that image first, right click, then a box comes up to “save picture as.” Only problem I find with that is you have to type in each time a “file name” I need an all attachments save button.

…And/or you can “act as if your replying, forwarding, but don’t actually reply” select your image, right click and all buttons will appear. Be sure to discard your reply though.

This is absolutely ridiculous! How hard is it to put the “save as” option for attachments? This has been going on for months with many people complaining that it is interfering with their job performance. I have to stay with the old Outlook because I can not complete my job with no “save as” option in the new Outlook.

.. and now you want to inform us all that the old outlook will be phased out by the end of 2024! What do you think we are all supposed to do without being able to save our attachments to our files? I know there have been some directions given by some on how to do this… But that adds on way too much time to my job without just having a normal “save as” option. Get with it Microsoft!

I fully agree. I also need to save client emails on other drives, so the "Save As" is vital if I decide to stay with Me Outlook.

    This whole thing is ridiculous.
