Dear All,
Outlook offered to switch my application to the new Outlook version (there is a switch item below the window close button).
It looks like the in-browser version and works better than the former, but it has a missing option in the attachments drop-down menu, called 'save as'.
We get a lot of documents in our emails, which should be saved in different projects' locations on a local hard drive. The in-browser version and the former desktop app have this option but this new app does not.
How can I add this function back again?

Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

I wish I could switch back! As of today it forced me to switch to NEW outlook, OLD outlook will no longer open and still... NO SAVE AS FUNCTION! It makes me so annoyed.
I never left Classic because I knew that Microsoft never acts quickly. Hopefully I will be able to switch sometime before the end of the decade.
It's september already, and nothing's done ... I guess they don't give a d.. . Had to revert back to classic
How is this still not fixed? It is 9/9/2023. This is not a difficult feature to add. Every user who saves an attachment wants to save to a specific location, how hard is it to understand that? This is a simple code somebody could write in a few minutes. Disappointed with Microsoft yet again! How many employees do you have???
Yes, please add the save as feature back. It is somewhat ridiculous to have to download a file and then go drag it to the appropriate location when we could simply do a save as.

As per your mentioned description about "No 'SAVE AS' option for attachments in new Outlook desktop app". after thorough research and testing I found that this particular setting only exists in the classic Outlook and is not yet available in New Outlook for Windows at this moment. I have tested on my side and reproduced your issue as shown in the attached screenshots.
The New Outlook is in a Preview state, and they are still working on the platform/foundation of the application itself. At this stage of the development, luckily restarting the client is very quick. As an alternative, you can switch back to "Classic" Outlook by turning New Outlook Off
However, thank you so much for bringing this to our attention, your suggestion is very helpful, and I believe it could make the use of New Outlook even better. Since New Outlook for Windows is still in active development, we will surely raise your concerns to our Product Development Team and hopefully this can be included in the future updates.
