No 'SAVE AS' option for attachments in new Outlook desktop app

Dear All,

Outlook offered to switch my application to the new Outlook version (there is a switch item below the window close button).

It looks like the in-browser version and works better than the former, but it has a missing option in the attachments drop-down menu, called 'save as'.

We get a lot of documents in our emails, which should be saved in different projects' locations on a local hard drive. The in-browser version and the former desktop app have this option but this new app does not.

How can I add this function back again?

    The issue has still not yet been resolved. I love the look of the new Outlook app but I have to switch back to the classic one just because of it.

    Now it is October and the issue is still not fixed. The new Outlook looks like Teams used to do, with smileys and no option to "Save as..." when downloading attachments.

    Now the old Outlook doesn't work anymore, it just automatically switches back to the new Outlook.

    Is it somehow related to security, that you do not allow downloads to user specified locations?

    I have the same problem and this is absolutely insane. I can't even drag images from the email into a folder. It's like no one designing the programs has any understanding of how people actually work.

    What's needed?

    1. bring back the Save As button
    2. allow drag and drop of attachments onto your desktop or into folders.

    These are basic functions! Why are they even missing?

    Bonus request:

    1. Get rid of "Save to OneDrive" as the default across the entire suite of programs. In the real world, most companies who handle secure information do not allow you to save files off premises, period. Not allowed to use Google Drive. Not allowed to use iCloud. Not allowed to use OneDrive.

    I strongly agree with those who wish to see a return of the "Save As" function in the New Outlook. I tried the New Outlook some months ago but reverted to the old version immediately because of this lack of functionality. I can't have all attachments dumped into the OneDrive Attachments folder by default as this is extremely impractical. I checked again today and see that the issue still has not been addressed. I won't move voluntarily to the New Outlook as long as it lacks a "Save As" function as the older version.
