No 'SAVE AS' option for attachments in new Outlook desktop app

Dear All,

Outlook offered to switch my application to the new Outlook version (there is a switch item below the window close button).

It looks like the in-browser version and works better than the former, but it has a missing option in the attachments drop-down menu, called 'save as'.

We get a lot of documents in our emails, which should be saved in different projects' locations on a local hard drive. The in-browser version and the former desktop app have this option but this new app does not.

How can I add this function back again?

    I too found that “save as” option. But as you pointed out… I don’t want to save it where Microsoft says to save it. I want to save it in the file that I create with no download. And again… This has been going on for months. I’m now changing over to Mac. I know there will be a bit of a learning curve but… My job is too important to wait for Microsoft to fix this issue. I’m done with playing around with Microsoft.

    I checked the new Outlook just now and found a “Save As” option. Maybe it was there earlier, but I didn’t see it. Anyway, clicking on the 3 horizontal dots at the top right of an open email opens a pulldown menu that has a Save As option. But when clicked, there is only the default Downloads folder available as the saving destination. What a waste of time and utter BS. I should be able to save wherre I want! Why can’t MS fix this simple problem? It's been known for months and has generated so much online discussion. Is it that they are now so big that they think we have to accept whatever junk they offer us?

    Yes, it is extremely important for me (and my business) to be able to save attachments in different folders. PLEASE add this missing feature to the most recent version of Outlook!

    Agreed. Total BS. That (the BS) seems to be the MS focus area these days.

    Last night I spoke in length with a online chat representative from Microsoft. I asked the simple question… Where is the “save as” option. I was told they are still working on the actual Outlook platform and are just in the experimental phase of it. I then proceeded to tell him to quit hyping everyone up and telling us the old outlook will be phased out soon before your new program isn’t even running correctly. You’re giving people a lot of anxiety! He apologized and said he will talk to the writers of the program again. Sounds like a lot of BS to me.

    I told the representative he better hurry up and speak to someone because I’m thinking of going with a Mac computer at this point.
