No 'SAVE AS' option for attachments in new Outlook desktop app

Dear All,

Outlook offered to switch my application to the new Outlook version (there is a switch item below the window close button).

It looks like the in-browser version and works better than the former, but it has a missing option in the attachments drop-down menu, called 'save as'.

We get a lot of documents in our emails, which should be saved in different projects' locations on a local hard drive. The in-browser version and the former desktop app have this option but this new app does not.

How can I add this function back again?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

István

    HERE's THE TEMPORARY FIX.

    1. Click on the attachment to Preview.
    2. Click the Print icon at the top-left of Preview.
    3. For Printer, select Microsoft Print to PDF.
    4. Click Print, a "Save As" window pops up.
    5. Print/ Save in the desired location.

    You're Welcome.

I get what you're saying. But MS is asking us to use our right hand to scratch the left ear. Why can't the old Save As be reinstated? Why change a feature that worked so well? Why fix something that ain't broke? Or, as folks are saying is it that they no longer care?

For about three weeks, it seemed the issue with filing attachments was solved. But about two days ago, New Outlook reverted to the old problem. I suggest that it may have arisen in the latest revision from Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.207.500 (Production) (where it worked) to Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.214.400 (where it does not).

I can't comment about the versions. All I know is MS has screwed up and seems to have no interest in fixing the mess they have created.

I also had the same situation, recently when clicked on the Download option, it showed the window that you can choose the location to save file. But now, I thought it went back to BS again when now it goes straght to dowload folder. What the.... MS????

Great suggestion for those who have a choice. Those of us stuck with using the Office Suite and Outlook at our jobs don't have the option to change programs. Millions of us are spending hours every week struggling with this stupid attachments issue. I don't think the devs at MS have any idea of how the programs are used in the real world.
