Dear All,
Outlook offered to switch my application to the new Outlook version (there is a switch item below the window close button).
It looks like the in-browser version and works better than the former, but it has a missing option in the attachments drop-down menu, called 'save as'.
We get a lot of documents in our emails, which should be saved in different projects' locations on a local hard drive. The in-browser version and the former desktop app have this option but this new app does not.
How can I add this function back again?

As of 12.19.2023, I seem to have Save As now...when I click Download, it opens a Save As window and I can direct the location and name the file... The only feature I still don't have is drag-and-drop to save... We're making progress, people!
How do I revert back to classic?
It has now been 6 months since this was raised. Seems crazy that they haven't fixed it yet.
Attachments will be a "thing" for a long time, and what is most ridiculous is that the save as option exists in the mac and browser versions but not yet in the "flagship" desktop app.
I too found that “save as” option. But as you pointed out… I don’t want to save it where Microsoft says to save it. I want to save it in the file that I create with no download. And again… This has been going on for months. I’m now changing over to Mac. I know there will be a bit of a learning curve but… My job is too important to wait for Microsoft to fix this issue. I’m done with playing around with Microsoft.
I checked the new Outlook just now and found a “Save As” option. Maybe it was there earlier, but I didn’t see it. Anyway, clicking on the 3 horizontal dots at the top right of an open email opens a pulldown menu that has a Save As option. But when clicked, there is only the default Downloads folder available as the saving destination. What a waste of time and utter BS. I should be able to save wherre I want! Why can’t MS fix this simple problem? It's been known for months and has generated so much online discussion. Is it that they are now so big that they think we have to accept whatever junk they offer us?
