New Outlook - Auto Capitalization

Not sure what to say, Alan. That setting worked for me, sorry it didn't for you.

Perhaps toggle everything off, make sure Outlook is up-to-date, close and reopen Outlook and toggle the settings back on?

So it has been almost a year and nothing has changed. i believe tis needs some work! While i am **** about MS, i just spent $2k on your new surface laptop with the fastest and largest processor you make available. called Snapdragon. It does not connect to any other devices. Printers, scanners, cameras etc are all unavailable using this processor. This make the computer useless for business. It is not that fast either.

i am not a gamer, but my old surface pro was giving me a problem and i thought I was upgrading. not so.....

AHH mate, if you have the option of returning the Surface, I would do that and get something else!!

My work has issued me one and it's absolutely awful!! I'm technically on my third one in less than a year as had so many issues in the first six months. They do not manage heat or power particularly well, especially when using it whilst it is on a soft surface (e.g in hotel room, sitting on a bed with it on your lap).

Regarding (new) outlook... It's still dog ****... Not just for auto capitalisation ... I hear because it's very much cloud based, it does not perform well at all.

I just returned from the Best Buy store. I gave it back to them. I just now ordered a new surface laptop only available on the ms business site with a non Snapdragon processor. It was $2700, but should be functional. I am glad i kept my surface pro 7. I do wish new ones had an sd slot like this one has. Having a 1 tb sd card in that slot has saved me a lot of confusion as I have terrible internet service at home and the ability to retain documents locally is a bonus. Thanks for your sympathy :-)

I highly doubt your Outlook 365 aka Outlook (new) is auto capitalizing as you say it is. There is the setting in Microsoft Editor Settings after clicking the ellipsis (...) in the ribbon bar, "Enable auto capitalization" but that does not work (as others have said). This setting was enabled by default so I'm sure it is enabled on every user's Outlook (new) and yet, there are pages and pages of users responding who have this exact issue.

I'm not sure if you aren't understanding what all of us are referring to when we say that Outlook would always capitalize the first letter of the first word on a line after we press Enter (new line). It does not do this in Outlook 365 despite the setting that someone pointed out and I referred to above: 'Enable auto capitalization'

If it works for you would you mind posting a video of Outlook (new) capitalizing the first letter of the first word on a line after you press Enter?
