New Outlook - Auto Capitalization

This is still not resolved in 2024. I am actually gobsmacked that the company that made Word and essentially introduced basic grammatical error correction to the world could release the "New Outlook" in this state, and nearly a year after this thread was created has still not implemented the feature.

Microsoft what in the world are you doing? Further, why are you forcefully pushing "New Outlook" out to every single corporate/domain joined PC as if it's ready for prime time whilst lacking this basic functionality?

It's almost distressing to see how far Microsoft has fallen... But I guess auto capitalisation won't matter soon enough since Microsoft expects Copilot to be writing all of our emails or something. Keep banging the AI drum, I'm sure that'll resolve all of your other software shortcomings (except for Teams -- nothing will ever fix Microsoft teams🙄)

The plot thickens..

When composing a new email, look on the ribbon for the "Editor" button, click it then click "customize you editor" within it there are checkboxes for many grammar options, and amongst them is "Capitalization"..

It is unchecked by default, annoyingly checking it seems to not do anything?? In fact, I'm not sure any of the grammar options do anything?? The editor shows 0 grammar suggestions even though I have text filled with grammatical errors on purpose..

What the heck is going on here? It should be automatically fixing these errors or at the very least blue underlining them. Instead, it doesn't even seem to be seeing the errors, I'm not sure its functioning at all. You expect us to buy into CoPilot and all this new AI stuff, but seem to be completely failing at an automation task that previous software has been doing for decades.

How about we stop dreaming up "features" that very few people will use and make the base product fully functional before adding anything else?

I find it hilarious that even that first response, whilst in depth, the fifth 'word' was a lower case 'I'

This is a ridiculous answer. The new Outlook does not follow basic grammar rules so it needs to be fixed. Sentences always start with a capital letter, I alone always capitalised. I note when I type this message the I corrects and the new sentences start with a capital letter. Not sure who which 'Partners' consulted to make the new Outlook format differently to the old but they are clearly clueless when it comes to basis grammar.
