Add folder from a shared mailbox to favorites

Hi,

I am using the "new" Outlook for Windows. It seems that it is no longer possible to move a folder from a shared mailbox to the favorites folder. This used to be possible in the "old" version. Is this feature gone or am I overlooking something?

Thanks for your help.

We are using the same version... and yes, its funny - Outlook for the web already supports this function. I assumed both would be based on the web version. Our users will never accept the new Outlook if such fundamental functions are missing.

To me it all still sound incredibly flaky. If you're on the Targeted Release channel, you may be able to add the inbox of certain types of Shared Mailboxes to your favorites.

As far as I'm concerned this solution (if it will work for our mailboxes) is the absolute barebones minimum required for me to keep on working with the application itself. Currently, the website version of Outlook somehow handles everything related to this better than the application.

Currently its showing on the outlook roadmap as 'Targeted Release', our outlook is showing

There are no details on what constitutes the targeted release but it may be a tenacy thing? Its certainly working for all of the users in our tenancy (all on the same version)

You can now (with the new version) add the inbox of a shared mailbox to favourites. Clicking on the three dots to the right of the inbox folder name and then clicking 'Add to Favourites'. There appears to be a caveat though, the shared mailbox MUST be an actual 'Shared' mailbox, and not simply a 'User' Mailbox that you have access rights to (even though they will both show under the 'Shared with me' folder.

If its not working for you, check you have the latest version, this is a targeted release though so it may be that it just hasnt hit you yet. One thing that did arise, once the new version installed we could no longer run new and classic outlook (the icons are still there, but both now load the new - and to get to classic we had to toggle back).

First two are actual mailboxes, next 3 are all shared mailboxes (denoted by the small figure bottom right of the folder)

What do mean with latest? I am on Clientversion: 20250314002.14, released on 21th may and it is still not available...
