How to view the to-do bar in the new outlook? It is convenient to have the work-day calendar (and/or to-do list) on the side while responding to emails.

For anyone else looking, the To Do is (at least as of now) in the New Outlook view. In the upper right area near the close/minimize/maximize buttosn there's a calendar and checkmark icon next to the notification bell. Hit that and it opens a calendar/to do pane.
Sorry. I misunderstood then. I thought this was about getting the to do pane to show up. Trying to figure that out was how I found the thread. But maybe my post will help the next person looking for that feature. Good luck, and here's hoping Microsoft puts the functionality you want back :)

Out of curiosity, wondering if that is in the browser only or both, I switched to the new outlook on the desktop client, and found the icon you highlighted above is there, too. The result is the task pane on the right side I was looking for.
The issue for me is that you cannot see your Tasks in the lower part of the window when you view your calendar, so you cannot plan your weeks in an efficient way.
What I do with the (old) Outlook is that I drag and drop the tasks back and forth quite a bit between the days. When I want to set off time to fix it finally, I drag the task up to the day in the week view and it assigns it a time slot in my calendar. That is not possible with the new version.
I am sticking to the old for now and until that is resolved.
Yes, I agree. It's too spread out. We have options to use tighter spacing for the emails list under layout so why not in the new To Do bar (or whatever it's now called). I'll have to stick to the old as long as possible as it's easier to use and I can see more.
